Iolana Makaio is a theatre librettist/director/historian/dramturg and a graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
A passionate lover of theatre, Iolana has written and directed more than twenty plays and musicals. Originally from Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, she grew up surrounded by the islands’ vibrant culture and artistic community.
Today, Iolana divides her time between Kona, Oʻahu, and Los Angeles, continuing to pursue her love of theatre and contribute to the performing arts whenever and wherever she can.
