San Francisco's African-American Shakespeare Company has announced that due to unforeseen circumstances the company's World Premiere of Nambi E. Kelley's, XTIGONE, directed by Darrel V. Jones, has been postponed, and removed from African-American Shakespeare Company's current season schedule. A RAISIN IN THE SUN, Lorraine Hansberry's timeless play about a 1950s-era Chicago family longing for a better life, will be the third and final production of the company's 2011-12 season.

Neil Armfield, former artistic director of Sydney's Belvoir and acclaimed director of Exit the King (Broadway, 2009) and Diary of a Madman (Brooklyn Academy of Music , 2010), will direct The Book of Everything, a play for young people and families that will run at The New Victory Theater from April 20 through April 29.

As part of its year-long Discovery Series exploring the arts of Australia and New Zealand, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will present OrigiNation: A Festival of Native Cultures on April 14-15. MotorCity Casino Hotel welcomes An Evening with Jeffrey Osborne at Sound Board on Thursday, May 10 at 8:00pm. Jeffrey Osborne is a funk and R&B musician, songwriter, lyricist and was for more than ten years the lead singer of the band L.T.D.. In 1982 Osborne released his self-titled debut album which featured two hit singles "Wings of Love" and "I Really Don't Need No Light." This was followed the next year by his first gold album which later reached platinum status, the first of his five solo gold and platinum albums.

George Street Playhouse continues its series of Pride Nights for the Gay Community on March 29, following the performance of the Playhouse's smash hit courtroom drama, Twelve Angry Men. Gazeta reports that Moscow's Pushkinskiy cinema's Karo Film has signed a deal with Stage Entertainment theatre company for the building to be turned into a venue for live theatre. The cinema will rent the building out for musicals and will form a theater block with nearby theaters.

Deadline reports that SMASH creator and executive producer Theresa Rebeck will step down as showrunner for the television show before it returns for its recently announced second season. Rebeck will remain an executive producer of the show, but will not be as extensively involved in the day-to-day production of the series.

Newcomer Isabelle Allen will play Young Cosette in the upcoming film version of the musical Les Miserables, ScreenTerrier reports. She will play the child version of Amanda Seyfried, who plays Cosette. Allen's character is known for her solo, Castle in a Cloud.

Hannah Waddingham will play Lilli Vanessi in Trevor Nunn's Kiss Me Kate at the Chichester Festival Theatre, which will open June 18, the UK Daily Mail reports. She will star opposite the previously announced Australian actor Adam Garcia, who will play ladies' man Bill Calhoun, as well as Clive Rowe and David Burt, who will play the pair of gangsters who sing Brush Up Your Shakespeare. Stephen Mear will choreograph.
