Elizabeth has always been a fan of the arts. She took dance classes when she was younger, and now she enjoys watching and supporting all the talented theatre performers in Southwest Florida. Aside from seeing lots of theatre, her favorite hobbies include baking, trying new restaurants with friends, and blasting various cast recordings in her car.
Broadway Palm kicked off their 26th season with LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES, a hilarious and fun musical parody, which was created, written, directed, and choreographed by Victor Legarreta. The show featured an incredibly wide range of movie scenes and musical numbers, from classic movies to more modern movie musicals, and it even put a creative spin on many movies that are not musicals.

THE SAVANNAH SIPPING SOCIETY, playing in Broadway Palm's Off Broadway Palm Theatre, is a delightful tale about four women who transform from strangers to best friends through weekly gatherings on a Savannah verandah. Whether they're dealing with struggles in relationships, work, or simply the side effects of getting older, these women help each other through it all. This show was brought back to The Off Broadway Palm because of popular local demand, and after having the chance to see it, I definitely understand why.
Broadway Palm's production of RING OF FIRE gives audience members the chance to learn about Johnny Cash's life while listening to over 30 of his iconic songs. At the beginning of the show, the entire cast introduces themselves by saying, "I'm Johnny Cash," and from then on they each take turns telling stories of his life, through both song and dialogue.
Florida Rep Education's production of HEATHERS, directed by Kody C. Jones, brought to life the very funny, dramatic, iconic show--and it was 'Beautiful.' HEATHERS is a fun show, absolutely, but it is also very real. It tackles a lot of issues that are prevalent in today's world, such as bullying, teen suicide, gun violence, and much more. Florida Rep's Education program more than did justice to the story of this production, and I would absolutely recommend stepping into the 'Candy Store' and seeing it as it plays through this weekend.
Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre offers a lot of unique, fun theatre experiences to Southwest Florida audiences, and MURDER IN PARADISE was no different in that aspect. It was a hilarious, very interactive show, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.
Gulfshore Playhouse's production of THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP by Charles Ludlam finishes off their 2017-18 theatre season with a clever, quick, and absolutely hilarious show. It was a mystery, a comedy, a tragedy, and so much more, all in one fantastic Penny Dreadful production.

If you are looking for a wonderfully well-done, dark and layered storyline, with some very fun and slightly scandalous musical numbers, I highly recommend Florida Rep's CABARET. CABARET is a very popular, well-known musical for a reason, and Florida Rep's version of it is outstanding. Get your tickets to see this fantastic show before they are gone!
Gulfshore Playhouse's production of SCAPINO, based on Moliere's Scapin, brings an exciting, local twist to a play that is hundreds of years old. The show, adapted by Jeffrey Binder, has something for everyone--humor, romance, scheming, and much, much more.
Florida Repertory Theatre always manages to bring an inspiring sense of wonder to their stage through their productions, and they proved this again with THE MIRACLE WORKER. They brought together the well-known, classic true story of Helen Keller and her teacher, phenomenally talented actors, a beautiful set and costumes, and, with a little bit of their Florida Rep magic, created a show that is not to be missed.
Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre never fails to transport you to another world with their productions, and MAMMA MIA! is no exception. From the familiar storyline of MAMMA MIA! and songs of ABBA, to the fun costumes and choreography, this show is one of the best productions Broadway Palm has brought to Southwest Florida.
I absolutely recommend you see NIGHT AND DAY before it leaves Southwest Florida; this show is most definitely going places, and I promise that you do not want to miss the opportunity to say that you saw it premiere at Florida Rep first. Between the fantastic singing, acting, and dancing, the beautiful costumes and set, and the beloved classic music by Cole Porter, I guarantee this show has something for everyone.
