In 2010 it was “The Boy From Oz”, in 2011 it was “Grease” and in 2012 Metropolitan Players presents “OLIVER”. The previous 2 shows were run away successes with audiences over 7000 and 8000 respectively. “OLIVER” promises to be another audience favourite as has been shown by the current Cameron Mackintosh revival production on London’s West End.
Charles Dickens’ story of ‘Oliver Twist’ is brought wonderfully to life in Lionel Bart’s musical version. With well known characters like Fagin, Bill Sykes, Nancy, Oliver and The Artful Dodger and songs such as “Consider Yourself”, “I’d Do Anything”, “Pick a Pocket or Two”, “As Long As He Needs Me” and “Food Glorious Food” it will be a great night of musical theatre.
“OLIVER” will have another talented, all-Newcastle cast and production team to ensure another season of quality theatre.
“Please Sir, we want some more!”
