Jazz songstress Ali Hughes (frontwoman for Sydney ensemble ali & the thieves) is about to take the New York Fringe Festival by storm with Leonard Cohen Koans, a stunning exploration of the artist's work. Catch highlights from this show and Ali's other interpretations when she sings at The Wharf Sessions accompanied by Leonie Cohen.

Lady Sings it Better have played to sell out audiences in Sydney and at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. These six talented women take the greatest male musicians of the Twentieth Century and reinvent them as sassy old school cabaret; masculinity mixed up in sultry female vocals.

The Wharf Sessions are Sydney Theatre Company's regular series of free post-show gigs at The Wharf. Previous artists include Bertie Blackman, The Paper Scissors, Cloud Control, Red Riders and Bridezilla.

While The Wharf Sessions is perfect for your post-theatre entertainment, you don't actually have to attend a show to come along, just turn up at 10pm!

Entry to the gig is free and available to all. No booking necessary. Drinks and snacks will be available at the bar.

Venue: The Wharf, Sydney Theatre Company
Date: Friday 24 June 2011
Time: Starts approx 10pm
Tickets: No bookings necessary
