Different Stages to Continue Ray Bradbury's FAHRENHEIT 451 This Weekend

By:

Different Stages opens its 2016-2017 season with Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.

Set in the twenty-fourth century, Fahrenheit 451 is a gripping tale at once disturbing and poetic about a fireman, Guy Montag, whose job is to destroy all books by fire. He never questions the destruction, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family". But when he meets an eccentRic Young neighbor, Clarisse, her inquisitive nature and humanist philosophy prompt him to question the emptiness of his life.

Directed by Lily Wolff (Lungs), Fahrenheit 451 features Kriston Woodreaux (As You Like It) as the fireman and Martina Ohlhauser (Too Many Husbands) as his wife. Playing the young neighbor is Bria Washington (Enter a Woman Pretty Enough). The Fire Captain is played by Rick Smith (The Price), and the young neighbor's grandfather is played by Garry Peters (John Gabriel Borkman). Also featured are Kathy Rose Center (Postville) as Mrs. Hudson, and Eva McQuade (The Language Archive) and Cassie Reveles (Alice in Wonderland) in various roles. Rounding out the cast are Devin Ramirez and Kamille Robertson.

Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm. and Sundays at 6pm. No performance on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, but an added performance on Wednesday, November 30. Tickets are: $15 Thursdays (and Wednesday, Nov 30); $20, $25 and $30 Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 continues Friday, November 25 - Saturday, December 3, 2016 at The Vortex, 2307 Manor Rd. Performances Thursdays - Saturdays | 8pm & Sundays | 6pm. Tickets Available Here or call (512) 478-5282 (small service fee may apply for credit/debit purchases).
