Video: Janet Noh Debuts 'Can't Wait to Meet You' Music Video
Check out the piano-driven track from the singer-songwriter.
Singer-songwriter and classically trained pianist Janet Noh has released her new music video "Can't Wait to Meet You," Noh's meditation on pregnancy and identity, and her love letter to motherhood.
Centered around a piano-driven lullaby, the video unfolds through a series of vignettes. Intercut throughout are glimpses of children’s toys alongside scenes of Noh tracing her sonogram, weaving in personal archival footage, including visiting the doctor’s office for an ultrasound, also weaving in moments from her wedding to her husband and candid scenes of their life together.
“I wrote ‘Can’t Wait to Meet You’ after hearing my baby’s heartbeat for the first time. Up until that moment, pregnancy felt abstract, like something happening to me. But when I heard that fast, galloping rhythm in the ultrasound room, everything shifted. It stopped being an idea and became a life,” says Noh.
“The song began as a piano lullaby, but as I kept writing, I realized it wasn’t just about my baby. It was about the woman I was becoming. About building the kind of home I once searched for. It’s a love song to someone I haven’t met yet and a promise that dreams and motherhood don’t cancel each other out; they expand each other.”
