Join museum naturalist Joseph DiCostanzo and Theodore Roosevelt re-enactor Joe Wiegand to search for indigenous bird species in New York City on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 10 to 11 am. On this bird walk, DiCostanzo will teach how to use field marks, habitat, behavior, and song as aids in bird identification and "Theodore Roosevelt" will share his love of nature in his native New York City.

This walk is an exclusive preview of the activities that will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2012, President Theodore Roosevelt's 154th birthday. The Museum will host a celebration to officially reopen the historic Theodore Roosevelt Memorial and the Hall of North American Mammals. Events will include live birds of prey demonstrations, bird walks outside, museum tours, diorama making, poetry, origami, field guides. For a full list of activities, click HERE.

There will be a series of programs devoted to conservation through lectures, special events, and symposia throughout the year.
