Student Blog: I Know Him, That Can't Be...

A Little Story of Someone I Kinda Know

By:

Student Blog: I Know Him, That Can't Be... ImageUntil I was about 7, I went to this one church with this one family who lived literally right down the road from there. They were a big family, and they always had been. I never knew how important they were until recently, though.

Around the same time, the sister of the patriarch of that family was murdered, and all I remember of her funeral was that there were lots of people there, and I didn't realize why until later.

You see, I'm talking about the Butz family, and if that name isn't familiar from the getgo, I'll remind you that the patriarch's brother is none other than the original Fiyero from Wicked, Norbert Leo Butz.

About two months ago, my mom and I were talking about him and then she asked me if I'd like something signed by him, and I jumped at the chance. Turns out, she was messaging back and forth with his sister-in-law who lives in the same town as us, who said he would be coming to town soon and that she'd give this stuff to him to sign for me.

Jump ahead another month, the same day I got my second set of fillings in, and we dropped by her house on a rainy day with a Walmart bag with a white hat, and a Wicked CD. By the next week, he had signed both of them, and I'm still in disbelief.

In a nutshell, you never know how you might know. It could be a big deal in the long run.
