Anton Chekhov was a master of the short story before he began to write for the stage, and Neil Simon, one of the most prolific and successful of American Playwrights has transformed some of them into a series of vignettes by turns poignant and hilarious - a perfect blending of Russian satire and Simon's mastery of comic dialogue.
