The community is cordially invited to attend Rockland Family Shelter's 11th Annual Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner honoring Oscar, Tony and Emmy-winning actress and author Ellen Burstyn, award winning composer and lyricist Neil Berg and Broadway actress, singer and performer Rita Harvey, all of whom will be present to accept their awards. The celebratory evening will take place on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills in Stony Point and includes cocktails, dinner, special guests and entertainers.

Date: Sunday, May 2, 2010
Time: Cocktails 5:30 p.m. Dinner 6:30 p.m. Festive attire.
Location: The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills, 19 Clubhouse Lane, Stony Point, NY 10980
Cost: $150 per person, or $1800 for a table of 12 which includes a complimentary Journal entry.

Those who cannot attend the dinner have an opportunity to show their support of the honorees and Rockland Family Shelter by placing a listing in the Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner Journal with options ranging from $25 to $10,000 and above.

The Rockland Family Shelter is honoring Ellen Burstyn for her commitment to creating a society founded upon equality and free of violence, including the dedication with which she has collaborated with the Rockland Family Shelter to raise awareness about violence against women and to help raise funds for RFS programs. Her voice is an inspirational force, as anyone who has read her autobiography, Lessons in Becoming Myself, knows, and she lends it generously to the causes she embraces. Ellen Burstyn is a treasured friend to the Rockland Family Shelter and her active respect for others and the world we share is an invaluable asset to both her immediate and global community.

The Rockland Family Shelter is honoring Neil Berg and Rita Harvey for their longstanding support of charitable organizations in Rockland County and beyond. Time and time again, they have generously shared their extraordinary talents to raise awareness and funds for countless humanitarian organizations, including RFS. The passion with which they have directed their creative energy to support causes that touch all of our lives is truly exceptional.
