NASTY DREW AND THAT HARDER BOY: THE CASE OF THE PEEPSHOW PHANTOM To Play the Laurie Beechman
After a successful launch earlier this year (in THE MYSTERY OF THE FAMILY JEWELS), those meddling teen detectives Nasty Drew and That Harder Boy return in an all new evening that blends theater, comedy, mystery, drag, stripping -- and disco. NASTY DREW AND THAT HARDER BOY: THE CASE OF THE PEEPSHOW PHANTOM will begin performances September 9 at The Laurie Beechman Theater inside West Bank Cafe.
Performances of this alternately erotic and comic caper set in sleazy 70's Times Square are Fridays, September 9 & 23 and October 7 & 21 at10pm. Tickets are $22 plus a $20 food/drink minimum. A $35 VIP ticket that includes reserved seating, a gift bag and a meet-and-greet are also available. To purchase tickets, call 212-352-3101 or visit www.SpinCycleNYC.com.
Teen crime fighters NASTY DREW AND THAT HARDER BOY are back for their grooviest mystery yet. On their first trip to The Big Apple in 1978, Nasty and Harder soon find themselves swept into THE CASE OF THE PEEPSHOW PHANTOM. Someone -- or something -- is scaring all the customers away from Lucinda Ember's Peepshow and rent is long past due! Hot Rodney, Lucinda's recently hired assistant and cabana boy, and Tootsie Pop, a lady of the night with daytime dreams of legit stardom, are the prime suspects. But is everything as it seems? From the seedy streets of Times Square to the bright lights of Studio 54,
Nasty and Harder must channel their inner city slickers and utilize their super-stripper-sleuthing skills to save Lucinda Ember's Peepshow -- and still make it to see Liza Minnelli on Broadway?
NASTY DREW AND THAT HARDER BOY: THE CASE OF THE PEEPSHOW PHANTOM was written and is directed by Chris Harder. This live theatrical parody of teen detective novels of a bygone era co-stars two of burlesque's hottest performers: Chris Harder and Nasty Canasta. It co-stars Roi King as cabana boy Hot Rodney, drag star Bootsie Lefaris (Diztorted Diznee) as disco diva Tootsie Pop, and Pearls Daily as peep show princess Lucinda Embers. Each night will also feature a special guest star. The Sept 9 opening night show features world renowned burlesque performer and Whitney Biennial artist, Julie Atlas Muz.
