Manhattan School of Music's Summer Camp, now in its 4th week, is in full swing preparing for the grand finale showcase next Thursday, August 2, and Friday, August 3 starting at 1:45 p.m. (on both days). 130 campers ages 10-14, who hail from all over NYC, have been spending the last 4 weeks at a Music Camp that offers training from classical orchestra, to musical theater, as well as some Latin and Classic jazz groups. On August 2, the Summer Camp Musical Theater group presents Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens' musical Seussical. Presented for kids, by kids, the show features 25 voice students who take on the roles of some of Dr. Seuss's most beloved characters.

Directed by Summer Camp faculty and Manhattan School of Music alumni Giuseppe Spoletini and James Noble, Spoletini states "this is the most talented group we have yet!" He is thrilled with the quality of voice campers this year, and can't wait for everyone to enjoy the fun loving musical.

Now in its 8th year, Manhattan School of Music's one-of-a kind free Summer Music Camp taking place daily now through August 3, has been a summer haven for about 130 talented NYC schoolchildren, grades 5 through 8. Each year, kids from all five boroughs come together to learn and play music, make friends, and experience a truly life altering summer program.

The big finale performance of the Summer Music Camp musical theater group will takes place on Thursday August 2nd at 1:45 p.m. and Friday August 3rd, 2007 in Manhattan School of Music's John C. Borden Auditorium at 122nd Street and Broadway.
