Today, April 24, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. in The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium will host "From Canvas to Costume: Painting at the Intersection of Theater and Film", featuring stars Tim Gunn, Janie Bryant, Julie Taymor, and Catherine Zuber.

Gunn, fashion consultant and TV personality (Project Runway), and a stellar panel of today's most visionary and influential costume designers explore the ways in which painting and other visual arts of the past and the present serve as an enduring inspiration in their work for stage, screen and television.

Join Emmy Award-winner Janie Bryant (Deadwood and Mad Men), Tony Award-winning director and designer Julie Taymor (The Lion King, Across the Universe, The Tempest); and Catherine Zuber, five-time Tony Award-winner (South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza) as they discuss how the visual arts of the past-and the collections of the Met itself-shape their own art and serve as touchstone and context for understanding their achievements in costuming in a variety of media.
