Danny Curtis’s Final Day? the Musical takes the stage for a strictly limited engagement at The American Theatre of Actors (ATA) on Sunday, July 19 at 6:15 p.m. as part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival

Based on true events, Final Day? is an operatic exploration of survival, hope, and an enduring love that defies the darkest corners of human history.

Set on the absolute final day of the war in Europe, the musical follows the impossible reunion of two star-crossed lovers—a German officer and a Jewish prisoner—brought together inside a high-security prison camp. The stakes are catastrophic: a ruthless Nazi commandant has received strict orders to execute all remaining prisoners associated with the Uranium Project—Hitler’s desperate, failed attempt to construct an atomic bomb.

Weaving together 22 original songs, Final Day? captures a group of people caught in an agonizing limbo, suspended entirely between the terror of imminent death and the fading light of liberation.

Developed by prolific industry veteran Danny Curtis—a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts whose 40-year career spans television, clubs, and legendary multi-decade residencies at NYC’s Monkey Bar and Dangerfield’s—this project represents a monumental leap into dramatic musical storytelling.

Mr. Michals has enjoyed a 30-year career on Broadway and concert stages, with leading roles in South Pacific, Beauty and the Beast, Les Mis, Man of La Mancha, and, most recently, the Tony Award winning revival of Parade, directed by Michael Arden.
