Although it is listed in the Fringe Guide under the comedy section, this very funny production, All By My Selfie, being presented in the Producers Garden, is more accurately described as a work of high quality cabaret. Tamar Broadbent wrote the show, the music, the lyrics, and accompanied herself on keyboard. She is one very talented lady, and one of the international acts appearing in the Fringe this year. She is from England, and this trip to Australia follows a very successful season at the Edinburgh Fringe. Her stage persona is of the naughty, but nice variety, and the audience loved her from the very start. Belly laughs were a regular feature of the audience response, coupled with copious applause. There was never any doubt that this show was going to be a big hit in this Fringe. Broadbent takes us through the minefield of being young in this hi-tech world, looking at both online and real world relationships, the pitfalls, and consequences, from the self-portrait photograph, or 'selfie', the use of meeting sites such as Tinder, and the "walk of shame" after a night of heavy drinking.Videos
