Cynthia Nixon is known for her iconic role as Miranda on 'Sex and the City' and now she's running for a new role as governor of New York. Cynthia tells Wendy why she decided to enter politics and weighs in on gun laws, the legalization of marijuana and Black Lives Matter. Plus, Cynthia talks about the importance of black women to the democratic party. Then, Cynthia reveals what happened at the 'Sex and the City' movie premiere in London that devastated her.

Cynthia Nixon has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for Lillian Hellman'S The Little Foxes. This marks Ms. Nixon's fourth Tony nomination and second win. She previously won the Tony for 2006's RABBIT HOLE. She was also nominated for 2012's WIT and 1995's INDISCRETIONS. 

The Broadway community mourned the loss of Tony Award-winning actor and Tony-nominated director, Roger Rees, who passed away last Friday at age 71, by dimming the Great White Way's theater marquees in his memory tonight, July 15th, at 7:45 p.m. for one minute. Today in 1972, Broadway veteran Jude Law was born. In 1995, Law starred in the National Theatre transfer of Broadway's Indiscretions at the Barrymore Theater. In May 2009, Law returned to the London stage to portray the title role in Shakespeare's Hamlet at the Donmar Warehouse West End season at Wyndham's Theatre. In September 2009 the production transferred to the Broadhurst Theatre in New York.

Film and stage actor Jude Law played host on 'Saturday Night Live' on Saturday, March 13, where he performed the opening monologue, and a sketch later on in the show, referencing his recent stint on Broadway in 'Hamlet'.

Preview performances began Saturday, September 12th, for the critically acclaimed Donmar Warehouse production of William Shakespeare's HAMLET with Jude Law in the title role, directed by Michael Grandage. The production officially opened on October 6th, at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). HAMLET will play a strictly limited run of 12 weeks only.
