The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents Sandra Booker in a program titled Forever Sassy: The Divine Music of Sarah Vaughan, a love letter to one of the great ladies of swing, scat and song, today, October 5 at 8:00pm. 

Vanguard Theater Company announced today an all-star team of instructors for The Lion King Experience, including workshops in African Drumming, Dance and Mask-Making. Beginning rehearsal on September 30 at the Montclair Cooperative School, Vanguard's workshop seeks to bring its mission of D.R.E.A.M., Diversity, Reciprocity, Education, Awareness and Mentorship, to young students grades 2 - 6, culminating in two performances in January 2019.

Ted Sperling, Artistic Director of MasterVoices, announced details of the acclaimed ensemble's 77th season, celebrating the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941. The upcoming season will be framed by two major musical events, the New York premiere of a multi-media version of Handel's oratorioIsrael in Egypt performed at Carnegie Hall, and a new adaptation of the Kurt Weill-Ira Gershwin-Moss Hart avant-garde musical, Lady in the Dark, starring Victoria Clark at New York City Center. Lady in the Dark has not been seen in New York since it was presented at New York City Center in 1994 as part of the inaugural Encores! season.

The ASPECT Foundation for Music & Arts opens its third New York City season of illuminating performances with Zemlinsky, Janacek, Dvorak and Their Muses on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 7:30pm at Bohemian National Hall. The concert features the acclaimed Zemlinsky String Quartet in an exploration of the culture and music of Czech romantics.

The New York Philharmonic has named Barbara Haws Archivist and Historian Emeritus for her leadership role in the creation, curation, and expansion of the Philharmonic's extensive Archives for almost 34 years. The production is directed by Clinton Turner Davis and will take stage February 8 to March 4 at Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street.
