A New Musical
Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, along with the City of Saint Paul, Landmark Center, The Saint Paul Hotel, Pazzaluna, Minnesota State Arts Board, Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, and the Saint Paul Public Library system enthusiastically announce the free Summer Dance program, a weekly social dance event at Landmark Plaza.
Currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary, The Riverside Theatre is presenting its 12TH Annual New York Family Arts Festival, a festival of interactive multicultural weekend activities for families to enjoy from Friday, June 11 - Monday, June 28 at the Theatre, 91 Claremont Ave. (bet. 120th & 122nd St.), Morningside Heights. All Festival events are free of charge to attend.
The National Jazz Museum's June line-up includes discussions with musical artists Paquito D'Rivera and Craig Harris for Harlem Speaks; a talk with a living literary legend, Peter Straub, at Jazz for Curious Readers; and our adult education series, Jazz for Curious Listeners, features instrumentalists Jeremy Pelt, Nicholas Payton and Orrin Evans taking the reins of discourse on jazz in the 21st century. The jazz world and The Hartt School lost a great musician and friend on Sunday, May 16, 2010, when the legendary Hank Jones passed away. Mr. Jones, an artistic collaborator with and personal friend of Hartt faculty members Steve Davis and Nat Reeves, presented a master class, performed a concert with Hartt faculty and students, and received an honorary degree from the University of Hartford on April 13, 2009. He died in New York City yesterday, at 91 years of age.

NEW DIMENSIONS in LATIN JAZZ returns to S.O.B.'s on Monday, April 5th, 2010 with a double bill of the Grammy-nominated Cuban drummer IGNACIO BERROA's quartet and the virtuoso Cuban pianist-composer ELIO VILLAFRANCA with a solo performance on acoustic piano.
The 2010-11 Broadway Sacramento season at the Community Center Theater will include six shows never before presented in the region, the first time in the 22-year history of the series that every presentation will be a Sacramento premiere.
