The cast and crew of SHREK THE MUSICAL®, the Tony Award®-winning production, celebrated the show's one year anniversary on Broadway with a reception on stage at the Broadway Theatre on Sunday, November 8th after the matinee performance. Cupcakes were provided to the cast by CRUMBS Bake Shop. The production also said goodbye to original "SHREK" star Brian d'Arcy James who played his final performance in the title role yesterday as well. (more...)

In the course of this evening's performance, the following physical objects will appear onstage: a boxing bag, four golf clubs, a newspaper, two small targets, an oversized golf ball plus snake, a bloody towel, a duck mask, a white spider with spots, a watering can, three boulders wrapped in twine, a yellow suit, two imitation row boats, one tray of fruit, one rolling table, six highball glasses, two white pillows, one large roll of plastic tape, a jeweled wristwatch, one package, gift-wrapped, one jeweled container, plus one blank container, three mirrors with numbers painted on the reverse side, two bows and arrows, one duck in a small cage, one stuffed small mouth plug.

SHREK THE MUSICAL®, the Tony Award®-winning production, will play its final performance on Broadway at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) on Sunday, January 3rd, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. following 441 performances and 37 previews. SHREK THE MUSICAL® will launch a national tour at Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre for a limited engagement, July 13 - September 5, 2010.

SHREK THE MUSICAL announced the winners in the "Not Your Ordinary Princess" competition, hosted by Nick.com. Laura Laureano (age 14) from Ronkonkoma, NY won the opportunity to play "Teen Fiona" and Hannah Beatt (age 9) from Sarasota, FL won the opportunity to play "Young Fiona" on Saturday, September 19th at 8 p.m. alongside Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster in a performance of the award-winning SHREK THE MUSICAL. The lucky winners were flown to New York to rehearse with Sutton Foster and members of the show's creative team, have a costume fitting, and appear in SHREK THE MUSICAL for one night only. The will be singing "I Know It's Today" with Sutton Foster. The girls arrived to begin their rehearsal with Sutton Foster and music director, Eric Stern.
