The Irish play that led to riots in the streets of Dublin when it debuted 103 years ago and became a comic masterpiece, The Playboy of the Western World, opens the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 19th season. With previews June 16 and 17, the play opens June 18 in the Schubert Theatre and continues through July 3.

According to Deadline.com Award winning playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah is working on a script for a biopic about 1970s soccer star Laurie Cunningham. The film is entitled 'Black Flash.' Cunningham was the first English player to join Real Madrid, the most successful soccer team from Spain. Cunningham was also the first black player to represent England at any level (under 21), and the first to represent the full England side in a competitive match, although Viv Anderson had appeared in a friendly before him to be recognised as the nation's first black full international.

Les Miserables is widely regarded as one of the most popular and successful musicals of all-time. It was the third longest running show on Broadway and has had over 9,500 performances in London's West End. Throughout the years, there have been many successful Canadian Productions of the hit show, and some alumni have come together to attempt to organize a reunion for June 2010 to bring together everyone who was ever part of the Canadian Les Mis family. BWW will be on hand to cover the big event and has also agreed to lend a hand in spreading the word, in the hopes that as many people as possible will be able to attend.
