Academy Award winner Dustin Hoffmanstars in HBO's 'Luck', a new series from David Milch. Hoffman plays Ace Bernstein 'a man in his late 60s just released from four years in prison who's autodidact, intelligent, and deeply involved in gambling.' The series will also star Dennis Farina and John Ortiz. Michael Mann will direct the pilot. La Jolla Playhouse announced today the cast and creative team of its upcoming world-premiere musical Little Miss Sunshine, by the Tony Award-winning creative team of composer/lyricist William Finn and playwright/director James Lapine. Mr. Lapine has enjoyed a long association with the Playhouse, having previously directed Merrily We Roll Along (1985) and Luck, Pluck and Virtue (1993). The production runs February 15 - March 27, 2011 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.

According to Deadline.com, Joan Allen is set to make her TV debut HBO's new series, Luck. The stage and screen star will join previously announced Dustin Hoffman in the series. Allen will star as a woman in charge of a program, in which inmates care for injured racehorses. Additional cast members include: Kerry Condon, Ritchie Coster, Kevin Dunn, Dennis Farina, Jason Gedrick, Ian Hart, Jill Hennessy, Richard Kind, Nick Nolte, John Ortiz, Tom Payne and Gary Stevens.

Disney Channel has ordered up a second season of its newest out-of-the gate hit, 'Good Luck Charlie' -- just three months after its premiere. Development has also begun on a holiday-themed 'Good Luck Charlie' Disney Channel Original Movie. The movie, being written by Geoff Rodkey ('R.V.,' 'Daddy Day Care'), will star the talented series cast, Bridgit Mendler, Jason Dolley, Bradley Steven Perry, Mia Talerico, Leigh-Allyn Baker and Eric Allan Kramer. The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide.

This week marked the net's 262nd consecutive win in Kids 6-11 and 259th straight win in Kids 6-14, with the streak at 258 out of 259 weeks with Tweens 9-14.
