NEW YORK NEO-FUTURISTS are pleased to present a special edition of their ongoing show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind in honor of the culmination of National Poetry Month. ABC announces its summer schedule, with the return 'The Bachelorette' on Monday, May 24 (9:00-11:00 p.m.); 'True Beauty' on Monday, May 31 (10:02-11:00 p.m.); a special two-hour blind date-themed episode of 'Wipeout' on Tuesday, June 1 (8:00-10:00 p.m.), before the premiere on Tuesday, June 22 (8:00-10:00 p.m.); 'Dating in the Dark' on Monday, August 9 (10:00-11:00 p.m.), and 'Shaq VS' on Tuesday, August 10 (9:00-10:00 p.m.).

The Huntington Theatre Company will end its run of artistic director Peter DuBois' hit 2009 Off Broadway production of Becky Shaw, a wickedly funny black comedy about a blind date gone bad on April 4th.

New York's WaxFactory has announced that its 2010 lineup will include BLIND.NESS, QUARTET v4.0, and DELIRIUM 27. BLIND.NESS features an all-female cast and will begin the season in January, running the 6th through 12th. QUARTET v4.0 will follow, running February 24th through 28th. DELIRIUM 27 will run March 24th through 28th. Each of the performances will take place at Abrons Art Center.

The University of Pittsburgh will hold a special presentation from The Asian Studies Center (UCIS) and the Japan Society on March 20th. The Yamamoto Kyogen Company will perform two plays Tsukimi Zato (Stop in Your Tracks) and Shido Hogaku (Moon-viewing Blind Man at Charity Randall Theatre (located on the main level of the Stephen Foster) at 8pm.

Rebecca Northan's wildly popular improv comedy Blind Date just finished a sold-out three week run as part of Harbourfront Centre's World Stage 2010 Season. Funny and charming, I had a wonderful time watching 'Mimi' woo her date of the evening! This is a little show with big potential, and I encourage all BWW readers to see it if they are ever given the chance. I suspect Ms. Northan could be Canada's own Carrie Bradshaw!

Last Night, March 7, stars from all over the world came out for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards Ceremony at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood California. 'The Hurt Locker' won Best Picture and the film's director Kathryn Bigelow took home the award for Best Director. Jeff Bridges took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his work in 'Crazy Heart', Sandra Bullock won Best Actress for 'The Blind Side', Christoph Waltz took home Best Supporting Actor for 'Inglourious Basterds' and Mo'Niqe garnered the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Precious'.

Laurie Rubin to Appear in Concert, 2/28

Celebrated mezzo-soprano Laurie Rubin, a native of Encino and now a full-time resident of New York City, will return home to California on February 28 to perform a program of works by Mozart, Rodrigo, Gershwin, Sondheim, Schwartz, and Sivan, among others. The evening will also feature special guest artists. Set to benefit the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind,?? the concert will be held at Zipper Concert Hall at the Colburn School of Music, and the curtain goes up at 7:30pm.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater continues its 15th anniversary season with the world premiere of Blind, by Craig Wright (The Pavilion, Lady). Directed by Lucie Tiberghein (The Pavilion, Geometry of Fire), performances began Wednesday, February 17th, 2010. Opening night is Thursday, February 25th at 7pm. The show is scheduled to run through Sunday, March 21st, 2010.
