Conductor Erich Kunzel, affectionately known worldwide as the 'Prince of Pops,' has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and his medical treatments will prevent him from conducting Ravinia Festival's June 5th opening night concert as scheduled. Stepping in for Kunzel is celebrated Broadway conductor Paul Gemignani, who will lead the concert production of Camelot starring Sylvia McNair, George Hearn and Rod Gilfrey.

DesiLit presents the third Kriti Festival, a celebration of South Asian and diaspora literature and arts, to be held June 11-14, 2009, at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and Roosevelt University. The four-day Kriti Festival is slated to include participant panels, author readings, writing workshops, publishing and marketing seminars, live performances, and question and answer sessions with literary agents and editors. Set designer Anne Patterson and Projection Designer Adam Larsen, whose work has enhanced the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's performances of St. John Passion and Gorecki's Third Symphony, return to design Joseph Haydn's The Creation in Atlanta Symphony Hall on February 26 and 28, 2008 at 8:00 pm. Soloists include soprano Janice Chandler, tenor Thomas Cooley, and bass Derrick Parker.

Performances begin Tuesday, February 10th. Opening night is Monday, February 23rd at 7pm. The show will run through Sunday, March 15th.
