The first pictures are released today for a major new season of Anton Chekhov's early works at Chichester Festival Theatre. Newly adapted by David Hare and directed by Jonathan Kent, the productions present a unique theatrical event which will see a repertory cast of 23 actors performing 50 parts in Platonov, Ivanov and The Seagull. For the first time ever on this scale audiences will be given the opportunity to see all three shows in close proximity performed by the same group and with the same creative team.  Check out the rehearsal photos below! Written by Mark Hampton and Mary Louise Wilson and directed by Andrew Russell, FULL GALLOP will run September 26 through October 25, 2015, with opening night on Thursday, October 1 at 8:00 p.m., in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Meera Syal's much-loved novel bursts onto the stage for the very first time this Autumn.  Adapted for the stage by the award-winning playwright, Tanika Gupta, and with specially composed music by Ben and Max Ringham, Anita And Me paints a colourful portrait of village life in 1970's West Midlands during the era of flares, power cuts and glam rock.  Directed by Roxana Silbert, the production premieres at Birmingham Repertory Theatre from 9 - 24 October (press night Tuesday 13 October, 7pm) before transferring to Theatre Royal Stratford East from 29 October - 21 November. The show is adapted for the stage by veteran playwright Cheryl L. West (Arena's Pullman Porter Blues, Jar the Floor), who partners with celebrated director Charles Randolph-Wright (director of Broadway's Motown and an inaugural resident playwright with Arena Stage, where he premiered his play Love in Afghanistan). Gloucester Stage is pleased to announce that Robert Walsh has been named Artistic Director of the 36-year old non-profit professional theatre, effective immediately. Walsh's appointment as Artistic Director continues a 20-year relationship with Gloucester Stage as both an actor and director as well as serving as Interim Artistic Director since December, 2014. During Gloucester Stage's 2015 season Walsh directed Enda Walsh's The New Electric Ballroom and currently appears in the New England premiere of Israel Horovitz's Gloucester Blue, which has extended it run through October 11.
