Starring stage, film and television actress Debra Jo Rupp (That 70s Show), Dr. Ruth, All the Way will now run from June 19 through July 21 at St. Germain Stage (formerly Stage 2) at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield. Nine-time Grammy Award-winning pianist Eddie Palmieri returns to the Blue Note from March 13 - 18 to celebrate his 75th birthday. Joining Palmieri will be trumpeter Brian Lynch, saxophonist Donald Harrison, trombonist Conrad Herwig, bassist Luques Curtis, drummer Jose Claussell and percussionists Vincente "Little Johnny" Rivero and Orlando Vega. Palmieri, who will play in Australia for a few days before heading back to New York for the Blue Note run, has been touring for over 50 years, starting with his first gig in Eddie Forrester's Orchestra.

Vaudeville is a bygone era. Much of its music is forgotten. Seems a pity, since it provided the roots of musical theatre as we know it. Bill Castellino and Mike Burstyn have created Al Jolson at the Winter Garden not only to pay homage to the great entertainer but to keep the memory of this time period vibrantly alive. Now on stage at the El Portal in North Hollywood, Jolson is somewhat illuminating as well as highly satisfying entertainment.
