Park Square Theatre presents William Shakespeare's whimsical tale of magic and mistaken identity, A Midsummer Night's Dream, over Thanksgiving weekend. The public has three opportunities to see Midsummer, with performances Today, November 23 at 7:30 p.m., and two shows Saturday, November 24 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Mitchell Hébert, professor of theater at the University of Maryland, co-directed the School of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies and National Academy of Chinese Theater Arts' bilingual production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The Helen Hayes Award winner discussed being a part of such a groundbreaking project and seeing it evolve from concept to successful stage production.

Burning Coal Theatre Company presents William Shakespeare's comic As You Like It. The production will run November 29 - December 16, 2012 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. Sunday, December 2 at 2 pm is our 'Pay What You Can' Day. That performance will also be Audio Described. Tickets are $25 general admission, $20 for seniors, and $15 for students and active military. All tickets are $10 on Thursday evenings. The University of Maryland's School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies performed their original interpretation of the Shakespearean comedy in collaboration with the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts at UMD in September and Beijing, China in October. Helen Huang, professor of Costume Design at UMD, talks about this groundbreaking production.
Alex Timbers to Helm THE LAST GOODBYE NYC Lab

According to an Equity casting notice, THE LAST GOODBYE, a musical featuring the tunes of the late Jeff Buckley, will soon get a New York City reading. The show, which premiered at Williamstown Theatre Festival, will hold a developmental lab January 27- February. Alex Timbers will direct and Sonya Tayeh will choreograph.

The Skidmore College Department of Theater has announced its Fall 2012 mainstage production, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM by William Shakespeare, directed by Doug Seldin. Performances are tonight, November 16-18 and November 29-December 2. All shows are in the Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater at 8:00pm except Sunday matinees at 2:00pm.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, kicks off its holiday season with William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Director Ethan McSweeny (Much Ado About Nothing, The Merchant of Venice) takes a fresh approach to this well-loved play filled with magic and wonder. The production runs at STC's Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from tonight, November 15-December 30, 2012.
