The McCarter Lab Fall Festival 2012 will feature some of the leading and emerging playwrights of the American theater from tonight, October 29 through November 4, in a series of unstaged readings and special events in celebration of the artist's work. As part of the League of Professional Theatre Women's 30th Anniversary 30 Plays Celebrate 30 Years project, an evening dedicated to poetry written and performed by poets P.J. Gibson, Carol Hall, Anne Hamilton, Harriet Slaughter, Mira Spektor and Gayl Teller will be presented at the Cherry Lane Theatre tonight, October 29th at 7:30. Cara Reichel will direct. Melody Berger will provide incidental music.

Desert Theatre League Honors Coyote StageWorks with a Dozen Desert Star Awards

The Desert Theatre League presented Coyote StageWorks a total of twelve Desert Star Awards at the Desert Theatre League's annual celebration and awards ceremony on October 14. The Desert Star Awards are presented each year by the Desert Theatre League to recognize excellence in the local theatre community. Almost thirty local theatre companies compete for the awards, which are given in the categories of Ballet, Youth Theatre, Drama, Musical/Opera/Pageant, Revue/Cabaret, Comedy, Staged Reading, One Acts, and Technical Awards. Founded in 1987, the Desert Theatre League has been representing the interests of the Coachella Valley's theatre community for twenty five years. The Annual Desert Star Awards celebration and awards ceremony first took place in 1988.

Coyote StageWorks launches its fourth season on November 23 with the Tony-nominated comedy "Souvenir" and follows up with a season that consists of "a little something for everyone". For the second season in a row, all productions will be staged at the Annenberg Theatre which is located at The Palm Springs Museum Of Art in downtown Palm Springs. CSW's mission is to bring affordable, entertaining, and thought-provoking theatre to Palm Springs and the surrounding communities of the Coachella Valley and to create an Actors' Equity Theater of local, regional, and national influence.

The world premiere of Tony Award winning playwright Richard Greenberg's new play, Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's, will begin performances at a Shubert theater on Broadway in February 2013. This stage adaption of Capote's classic novella will star Emilia Clarke (HBO's "Game of Thrones") in the iconic role of 'Holly Golightly' and will be directed by Sean Mathias.

The season kicks off in October with Peter Morgan's FROST/NIXON, apropos for this election year. The season continues with a new holiday offering great for the whole family, Truman Capote's A CHRISTMAS MEMORY, a world premiere adapted for Open Stage by Harrisburg's own Jim Woland. Next is JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE, the 1910's installment of August Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle of plays that chronicles the black experience in America. Closing the season is Sarah Ruhl's sweet and sexy comedy, IN THE NEXT ROOM or the vibrator play, which is sure to tantalize the patrons of the intimate playhouse on the street leveled of the Walnut Street Garage.
