The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - the acclaimed gay comedy/variety show - will continue their fourth season on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at The Duplex in New York's West Village.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today that due to the storm, the deadline for submissions to the Next Link Project, which guarantees production slots in the 2013 Festival, has now been extended by one week to November 12th. The 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival, NYMF's tenth season, will run July 8 - July 28, 2013. For more Next Link Project info and submission guidelines, visit www.nymf.org.

Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins (Caroline or Change) and Broadway performer Nick Adams (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) will perform at a benefit on Monday, November 12th at 7:30 PM at Etcetera Etcetera restaurant 352 West 44th street, to help raise money for The International Theatre and Literacy Project ( ITLP). The event is free of charge and open to the public. Reservations can be made at rsvp@itlp.org or by calling 212-620-7128. Donations will be accepted to help support ITLP's programs in Africa, (Tanzania, Rwanda and South Africa) and India.

“We should not do a show more often,” quipped Ryan Silverman as he an Jill Paice took in the appreciative applause of the Town Hall audience before even singing a note of the Broadway musical they were expected to star in this season, Rebecca.  Host Scott Siegel had just recapped the story of the show's numerous delays, fake investors, missing funds and the fact that an estimated 150 theatre professions had either turned down work or stopped seeking immediate employment because of their expectation to be working on Broadway by Christmas.

The only trouble with these 90-minute musicals that start at 7pm is that I really can't get all that enthused over the big 8:15 number.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham) presents the world premiere production of WILD WITH HAPPY, written by Colman Domingo, in The Public's LuEsther Theater. They will receive The Town Hall's 'Friend of the Arts' Award tonight, October 21st, 2012.

THE NEW BLACK FEST, a festival of theater, music and discussion from the African Diaspora will launch its 3rd season in October at various locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. With support from TimeWarner and a partnership with 651 ARTS, the Festival will take place today, October 8 - 13 at various locations, including the National Black Theatre, Mark Morris Dance Center, the Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Education Center. All of the events are Free and open to the public.

The stars came out on Thursday as The Public Theater celebrated the completion of the $40 million revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place with a special rededication ceremony. The event featured the "throwing out of the first lines" of Shakespeare by city officials and artists with ties to The Public, followed by a special performance from the cast of Hair, which had its world premiere at The Public when it opened in 1967.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced final casting for the 24th Annual Festival of New Musicals on Thursday, October 11 and Friday, October 12 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).
