THE MEETING* to Return to Joe's Pub with Tributes to Amy Winehouse, Julie Andrews & More

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return to JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater in September 2014 for the launch of its landmark 6th season. The Meeting* has been called "delicious and delightfully droll" by The New York Post, and "hilarious and sardonic" by The Village Voice. A recent story for Slate.com called the evening "so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight." The Fall 2014 season feature tributes to the beloved soul diva Amy Winehouse (September 14), Broadway and Hollywood star Julie Andrews (October 19), Warhol Superstar Candy Darling (November 16) and the 6th annual Holiday Spectacular (December 7). All performances are Sundays at 9:30 PM. Tracy Stark serves as the show's Music Director. Special guests will be announced shortly. (more...)

The New Group has announced today complete production dates for David Rabe's Sticks and Bones, the first production in the company's 20th Anniversary Season. Previews begin Tuesday, October 21, in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, November 6. As announced earlier, Sticks and Bones, directed by Scott Elliott and featuring Richard Chamberlain, Nadia Gan, Holly Hunter, Morocco Omari, Bill Pullman, Ben Schnetzer and Raviv Ullman, will play a limited Off-Broadway engagement through December 14 at The New Group at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME Producer Raising $5M to Keep Show Open

Broadway's Holler If Ya Hear Me opened to mixed reviews last month, but lead producer Eric L. Gold won't let that affect the show's open-ended run at the Palace Theatre. He recently told Variety that he hopes to raise another $5 million to keep the new musical open until ticket sales improve. When asked how long the show will remain, Gold told Variety: 'It's week to week right now. It can't tell you if it'll be two weeks or two months. It's an expensive game, and I'm the guy carrying the load financially. I made a rookie mistake by underestimating how much capital was necessary, but I'm tenacious.' (more...)
