On Wednesday, July 9, 2014, the Police Athletic League celebrated 100 years of PAL with the opening of the 2014 Summer Playstreets Program. Hundreds of children gathered on a PAL Playstreet at West 151st in Manhattan to play classic street games including marbles, skelly, hopscotch, traditional Double Dutch jump rope, Nok Hockey and the NYPD provided a portable rock climbing wall. The Muny presents the fourth show of its 96th season, The Addams Family, directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, choreographed by Vince Pesce, with musical direction by Ben Whiteley. The show begins tonight, July 14 and runs through July 20, 2014.

The celebrated 1957 film 12 Angry Men is a drama that began its life on television as part of a CBS series, Studio One, where it premiered in 1954. The work, penned by ex-serviceman Reginald Rose and inspired by his direct experience as a juror, went on to win an Emmy, and in its later form, an Academy Award nomination. It tells the story of twelve jurors who debate the fate of a sixteen year-old Latino boy on trial for murdering his father. The work starts out with one Not-Guilty vote, and explores the various prejudices of each juror (none of whom are given names) while simutaneously examining the nature of justice on both epic and intimate levels.

It's been announced, predicted and rumored and now it appears to be near official that Jason Robert Brown's Honeymoon in Vegas will be coming to Broadway this Fall. In a New York Times report on the closing of AFTER MIDNIGHT at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, they note that next up is said to be Honeymoon in Vegas, though dates are not yet confirmed.
