The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park will end its 50th Anniversary Season with the longest-running musical in history and the most revived show at the Playhouse -THE FANTASTICKS, presented by the Morse & Betty Johnson Charitable Foundation. This enchanting and funny show begins public previews on May 15 and continues through June 20.

'Wine with Friends,' a special event to celebrate Westport Country Playhouse's 80th anniversary season, will feature a pre-show party at Gilbertie's Herb Gardens, 7 Sylvan Lane, Westport, followed by a performance of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, 'Dinner with Friends' at Westport Country Playhouse on Friday, June 4.

Beijing Playhouse, China's largest locally produced English Broadway theatre, will present the Broadway musical I Do! I Do! from May 14th to the 23rd. I Do! I Do! will be performed in English with Chinese subtitles at Goose and Duck and various venues in Beijing.

Featuring an alluring musical score and delightful lyrics by the Tony Award-winning team who created 'Fiddler on the Roof,' the production will be directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.

Lortel Statues for 14 categories and 2 special awards were handed out by celebrity presenters at the 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards at a live awards ceremony last night, May 2, at Terminal 5. Hosted by the Off-Broadway League, the live show was co-hosted by Bryan Batt and Bebe Neuwirth and featured performances by Alan Menken, STOMP, Seth Rudetsky, Edward Watts of The Fanasticks and LaChanze. Two backers of the original production of THE FANTASTICKS have reaped a 24,000-percent return on their original investment. The production, which began its run in 1960 and and closed in 2002, will still produce income for the family, Marjorie and Malcolm Gray, until 2020 based on the terms of the original contract, which states the backers will receive money for 18 years following the shows final performance.

The Fantasticks, the world's longest-running musical, will turn 50 this coming Monday, May 3, 2010. Three days of celebration are planned to commemorate this historic occasion.
