Vassar & New York Stage and Film announce casting highlights for the 27th annual Powerhouse Theater season (June 24-July 31, 2011) and the schedule for Readings Festival 1 (June 24-26).

According to Deadline.com, Broadway veterans John Gallagher Jr. and Thomas Sadoski are on board to join previously announced Jeff Daniels Sam Waterston and Olivia Munn in Aaron Sorkin's HBO series: MORE AS THE STORY DEVELOPS. Sorkin's long-developing drama, set behind the scenes at a nightly cable news show. 'Social Network' producer Scott Rudin will reunite with Sorkin for the project, which will be executive produced by both. Filming on the pilot will not begin until later in the year.

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) concludes its 25th Anniversary season with a celebration of its history with 10x25, an all-commissioned, one-act festival of ten-minute plays by twenty-five of the extraordinary playwrights who have been produced there since 1985.

Maine State Music Theatre will present a concert version of the Tony Award-winning musical SPRING AWAKENING on Sunday, June 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Pickard Theater.

Transport Group Theatre Company, the winner of a special Drama Desk Award and two OBIE Awards, presents the New York premiere of LYSISTRATA JONES, a new musical with a book by Douglas Carter Beane; music and lyrics by Lewis Flinn; directed and choreographed by Dan Knechtges. Multi-award winning Rogue Machine brings David Harrower's critically acclaimed play Blackbird to Los Angeles for the first time. The company's recently extended run of Small Engine Repair (CRITIC'S CHOICE-LA Times; GO- LA Weekly, CRITIC'S PICK-Backstage, Ovation RECOMMENDED) will run simultaneously with this production, in Rogue Machine's larger space at Theatre Theater, during the first few weeks in June.
