The first song we (Stephen Libby and I) wrote for the show was 'Dark Paradise' - and it was one of the quickest. We knew what we wanted to say. We started it in a park, then ran home to get to the piano. The last was 'Happy Hour'. The first was easy, perhaps an evening - the last took us months. We wrote four different versions, none of which fit. I think every hour spent thinking about 'Happy Hour' was by the piano - in retrospect, fresh air and pacing is a game-changer. Highly recommended.

Lockwood Productions and Fools & Kings today announce the UK première of The Green Fairy. Opening at the Union Theatre on 4 November, with previews from 30 October and runs until 23 November.

Simple Machine, in partnership with the Resident Lab at Charlestown Working Theater, presents a staged reading of Daniel McCoy's new play Epimythium on Sunday, August 24 at 4 PM at the Charlestown Working Theater at 442 Bunker Hill Street in Charlestown, Massachusetts. James' classic story of a young governess charged with caring for two orphaned children at a lonely English country estate is one of the most famous Victorian ghost stories ever written. Hatcher's adaptation ratchets up the psychological suspense and intimacy of the story with two actors playing all the roles.

Boston Playwrights' Theatre and Boston Children's Theatre present a new adaptation of the Dylan Thomas poem A Child's Christmas in Wales. Playwright and director Burgess Clark has transformed this classic poem into what will hopefully become an annual Boston holiday tradition-complete with presents, odd relatives and freshly fallen snow.
