Overtone Industries to Present ICELAND at REDCAT's NOW Festival 2014, 7/24-26

Overtone Industries, a celebrated force in the evolution of contemporary music theatre and experimental opera, will share the stage at REDCAT, CalArt's downtown center for contemporary arts, with two other Los Angeles-based arts organizations during the kick-off weekend of the New Original Works Festival 2014 (NOW Festival), Thursday, July 24, through Saturday, July 26, 2014.

Banned by the Lord Chamberlain for its facetious and irreverent treatment of adultery, This Was A Man, a previously unseen play by Noel Coward, directed by actress Belinda Lang, opens for its long overdue UK professional premiere in a strictly limited three week season at the Finborough Theatre on Tuesday, 15 July 2014 (Press Night: Thursday, 17 July 2014 at 7.30pm).

London dates announced! The epic theatrical bicycle tour continues - the Handlebards began their ride on 29 May in Surrey and tonight will perform at Skipton Castle. Highlights of the tour so far include a 7-hour ride over the Pennines, arriving in time to perform the show.

The Puppet Shakespeare Players and STT Productions present the world premiere of PUPPET TITUS ANDRONICUS - a fresh, comedic take on Shakespeare's 'worst' play performed in the style of 'Avenue Q' - Off-Broadway at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street) in Manhattan. Directed by Ryan Rinkel, PUPPET TITUS ANDRONICUS will begin preview performances on July 24 prior to an official press opening of July 30, and will continue to play through August 17.

Casting and Scheduled ASL Performances for Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks Announced

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces today full casting, as well as six American Sign Language (ASL) Duo-interpreted performances for this year's Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, touring FREE FOR ALL to eighteen neighborhood parks across Chicago, July 18-August 17, 2014. Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks galvanizes communities by giving Chicagoans of all ages direct access to their city's cultural resources. This citywide summer tradition is made possible by a partnership between Chicago Shakespeare, the City of Chicago, Chicago Park District and Boeing. For the first time in the history of Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks, CST offers ASL Duo-interpreted performances as part of the Theater's continued commitment to Access Shakespeareprogramming.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Awarded $25,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts

Shakespeare & Company's Midsummer Night's Celebration will be held Today, June 28th. Artistic Director Tony Simotes and Co-Chairs Phoebe Giddon and Deborah Ryan will present a magical and unforgettable evening celebrating the 450thbirthday of William Shakespeare and the start of Shakespeare & Company's Summer Season. Guests of Honor Governor Deval Patrick and First Lady Diane B. Patrick will be in attendance, as well as Rick Dildine, Shakespeare & Company's newly appointed Executive Director in his first public appearance. The evening will also feature the opening night performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Simotes and set in the mysterious bayous of New Orleans during the height of the Jazz Age. Proceeds from the Midsummer Night's Celebration will benefit Shakespeare & Company's nationally recognized Education and Training programs.
