After making waves across the country, cult musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors returns home to Sydney next week for its penultimate season. With a slew of recently announced Helpmann Award nominations including Best Male Actor in a Musical, Best Female Actor in a Musical, Best Director of a Musical and Best Choreography in a Musical, this production has received rave reviews in every major Australian capital city. Starring Brent Hill and Esther Hannaford, the production lands at Sydney's Roslyn Packer Theatre for 12 days only before concluding its run in Perth.

A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory to Host Summer Festival

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Young Conservatory Director Craig Slaight announced today the shows that will comprise the summer Young Conservatory (YC) Festival. Productions include the world premiere of Top of the Pyramid, a collaboration among A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory, A.C.T.'s Education & Community Programs, and Oakland's Destiny Arts Center, and Fields of Gold: The Music of Sting, a celebration of the music of singer-songwriter Sting. Top of the Pyramid will perform July 26-30, 2016, in The Rueff at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater (1127 Market Street, San Francisco) and August 5-7, 2016 at Destiny Arts Center (970 Grace Ave, Oakland). Fields of Gold: The Music of Sting will perform at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater from August 16-27, 2016. Tickets for Top of the Pyramid are $20. Tickets for Fields of Gold: The Music of Sting are $30. American Conservatory Theater's Young Conservatory will present Punk Rock-Simon Stephens's (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) edgy and acclaimed play about the anxieties and fears that drive seven high-achieving students to emotional extremes. Performances of Punk Rock will take place February 2-7, 2016 in The Rueff at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater (1127 Market St., San Francisco). The performance schedule is as follows: Tuesday, February 2-Friday, February 5 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, February 6 at 1:30 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, February 7 at 1:30 p.m. Following the 1:30 p.m. performance on February 6, audience members are invited to talk to the actors and learn more about the show during a free Audience Exchange event. Highway Run Productions' RENT, currently playing at Hayes Theatre Co, sold out before it had opened and desperate fans have been calling the box office daily and lurking around the foyer before each performance in the hopes that a ticket might materialise. Producers Toby Francis and Lauren Peters have today announced that those who missed out this season (and those that are itching to see it again) will get another chance in 2016 when the production returns to Hayes Theatre Co for a strictly limited three-week season in March/April.
