Two of Toronto's most exciting indie theatre companies, UNIT 102 ACTORS COMPANY (named 2015's Best Small Theatre Company by NOW Magazine) and LEROY STREET THEATRE (The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?; Much Ado About Nothing) are joining forces to open a brand new theatre space in the heart of Parkdale.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) is pleased to continue its Common Access Initiative as part of its 22nd season of FREE SHAKESPEARE ON THE COMMON Romeo & Juliet runs July 19 - August 6 on the Boston Common.  Since its founding in 1996, CSC has offered one American Sign Language performance each season. 

The actors are in town! Set out a lawn chair or a blanket, as Bear & Co. brings you a summer parks-touring production of Shakespeare's love story for all time: Romeo and Juliet. Passions soar and hearts break in this 90-minute version, brought to you by Bear's core summer team: Eleanor Crowder, director; Rachel Eugster, music director; and Chris McLeod, fight director.

The Old Globe will once again share some of its favorite Shakespearean cinema as a complement to its stage productions with the return of Free Monday Night Film Screenings, presented in conjunction with the 2017 Summer Shakespeare Festival.

Young director and founder of teen-run Firebird Youth Theater, Leo Lion, says that ROMEO + JULIET strives to poise the classic in a new light. This age-centric production is fraught with significance for the award-winning Firebird Youth Theater, which is run entirely by teenagers.

TNT's new drama WILL is sponsoring The Public Theater's Free Shakespeare in the Park during the final performances of Julius Caesar on June 17-18 at the Delacorte Theater in Manhattan's Central Park.

Shakespeare is given a mod-ern twist in a brand new production of Romeo & Juliet coming to the Belgrade Theatre this June. ROMEO AND JULIET opened at the Stratford Festival on Thursday night. Director, Scott Wentworth's production takes the Festival Theatre stage by storm and is captivating from start to finish. This is the third production of ROMEO AND JULIET that this reviewer has had the privilege of seeing at the Festival, and it is without a doubt, my favourite.

Producers Global Creatures (CEO Carmen Pavlovic) and Roy Furman are pleased to announce that King Kong, will arrive on Broadway in the fall of 2018 at the Shubert Organization's Broadway Theatre.

The Watermill Theatre announces the second part of its 50th anniversary season which goes on sale on 22 May with priority booking for Friends of The Watermill opening on 15 May.

The Everyman Company will join with the award-winning Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) for Romeo and Juliet. Set in a world of gangs, Nick Bagnall's production reimagines Shakespeare's classic love tale for 21st Century audiences, exploring sexuality with some of the characters having their gender swapped, including Juliet who will become Julius.

Madison Opera partners with Wisconsin Public Radio to present recorded broadcasts of Gounod's Romeo & Juliet on Saturday, May 20 and Mozart's The Magic Flute on Saturday, May 27. 

Vilia Putrius, one of Festival Ballet Providence's (FBP) leading dancers for more than ten seasons, will retire from the company at the end of FBP's 39th Season next month. Ms. Putrius, who joined the FBP company in 2006, has performed many of the most memorable principal roles in FBP's repertoire, such as Juliet in Romeo & Juliet, the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, among many others. Her final performance will be Sunday May 14, 2017 at The Vets, dancing the title role in Cinderella.*
