"For The Record: Tarantino," the new CD produced by Ad Astra Live, features a dynamic cast that breathes new life into director Quentin Tarantino's films with fresh adaptations from the music featured in the director's iconic body of work. The series highlights stars from stage, record and screen as well as new, rising performers embodying iconic movie characters and giving them new voices.

With the newly remodeled live music space nearing completion and innovative menus still being unveiled, Rockwell: Table & Stage continues their exciting summer long "Soft Opening" by presenting a reconditioned version of For The Record: John Hughes. Show At Barre invites audiences to spend time with Walter, The Dude, Marge and Jerry, and the Soggy Bottom Boys in For The Record: Coen Brothers and celebrate a concert that brings the movies to life. For The Record: Coen Brothers showcases signature songs and moments from Coen Brother directed films including O Brother, Where Art Thou, Fargo, Hudsucker Proxy and The Big Lebowski among others. Show At Barre presents "Rogelio Douglas Jr. One Night Only" tonight, May 1 at 8pm. He makes his mark as an actor, singer/songwriter, and dancer, moving between the worlds of television, theatre, dance and music. The concert will include special guest artist Brenna Whitaker and a mix of Douglas Jr.'s original music as well as covers by industry-leading artists including Gavin DeGraw, Cee Lo Green, The White Stripes, Jason Mraz, Otis Redding, Joe Cocker and more.

Last night The Annenberg Theatre played host to Chris Isaacson's Upright Cabaret and the latest installment of his American Icon Series, RHYTHM OF THE NIGHT, which plays tribute to the Latin pop-rock music made famous by Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Santana and more. There were many things to love about this upscale Cabaret production! To start - the incredible talents of three of Broadway and Television's hottest talents - Lesli Margherita, Rogelio Douglas Jr. and Lexi Lawson. I have played audience to each of the three of them as they starred in various theatrical productions and it was a pleasure to share the evening with them in this unique genre. Since there is a bit of criticism to follow, let me start by saying I am a big fan of Upright Cabaret and would urge you to go to any of their productions at a venue near you. Fortunately for those near La Mirada, Thousand Oaks or Hollywood, you still have the chance to see this high quality production. And, if you don't have tickets yet I would say find a way to get them! There are many theatrical events in Southern California that promise an evening worthy of your time and your hard earned money --- Upright Cabaret delivers!
