Zoe Lafferty Presents:The Fear of Breathing �" Stories from the Syrian Revolution, 11/11

2012's hit Finborough Theatre play The Fear of Breathing - Stories from the Syrian Revolution by Zoe Lafferty, Ruth Sherlock and Paul Wood will be translated into Japanese and mounted in a new production by One Two Works at Tokyo's Akasaka Red Theatre. It will run from 11 - 17 November 2013, directed by the acclaimed Toshinobu Kojo.

The New York Dance and Performance Awards (The Bessies), NYC's premiere dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, announces legendary dance historian Nancy Reynolds as the recipient of the 2013 NY Dance and Performance Award for Outstanding Service to the Field of Dance Award. American Repertory Ballet to Bring FALL KICK-OFF Shows to Rider University, 9/20-21

American Repertory Ballet will kick off its 2013-14 season at Rider University's Bart Luedeke Center Theater in Lawrenceville, NJ on September 20 and 21 at 7:30pm. ARB's Fall Kick-Off production features Artistic Director Douglas Martin's critically acclaimed Rite of Spring, Patrick Corbin's lyrical Caress, ARB Resident Choreographer Mary Barton's vibrant Five Men and a Concerto, and an excerpt from Martin's Romeo and Juliet. Curtains up! AIR TWYLA propels Pacific Northwest Ballet into its new season with a trio of works by its first artist-in-residence, renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp. The program includes the world premiere of Waiting at the Station with a commissioned score by New Orleans music legend Allen Toussaint. Sharing the program with Waiting at the Station are the Scottish-inspired Brief Fling (a PNB premiere) and Tharp's homage to Ol' Blue Eyes and ballroom dance, the unforgettable Nine Sinatra Songs. New York City Center is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Fall for Dance Festival with a very special season, beginning with two FREE evenings of dance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, hosted by The Public Theater, on September 16 and 17 (rain date, September 18). The Festival will continue at City Center from September 25 - October 5 with performances by 20 acclaimed dance companies and artists from around the world, including three new works from today's most exciting young choreographers, commissioned by New York City Center in celebration of the tenth anniversary. The Festival's many free pre-show events will include dance lessons and panels by choreographers, artists and dance educators. All tickets are $15 and will go on sale Sunday, September 8 at 11 a.m.

American Repertory Ballet to Participate in Cranbury Day & Septemberfest

American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet School will be participating in events throughout Central Jersey this fall, including in the towns of Cranbury, New Brunswick, and Hamilton. On September 7, ARB will participate in Cranbury Day on Main Street, and advanced Princeton Ballet School students will perform in the School's beautiful Cranbury studio. The following weekend, ARB will be at Hamilton's Septemberfest on September 15. Later in the month, on September 28 at 4:00pm, the company will be performing at New Brunswick High School as part of the New Brunswick Cultural Center's Hub City Sounds arts festival.
