CSO to Join Forces with MusicNOW for Set of Concerts, 3/13

CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and Music Director Louis Langrée announce exciting new details surrounding the second annual groundbreaking artistic collaboration with the MusicNOW Festival and Artistic Director Bryce Dessner. On Friday, March 13, 2015 (8 p.m.), the CSO opens the festival with Varese's Tuning Up, as well as the World Premiere of Lo a new work by Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw, who will also perform the solo violin part for the new commission. The second half of that concert is highlighted by the CSO performing side by side with the Grammy-winning indie rock band, The National (of which Mr. Dessner is a part of). The 25-minute set is bookended with Christopher Rouse's The Infernal Machine and John Adams' Short Ride in a Fast Machine (which Cincinnati audiences will recognize from the CSO's wildly successful LUMENOCITY® program in August 2014).

Gotham Chamber Opera to Present THE TEMPEST SONGBOOK, 3/27-29

Gotham Chamber Opera presents the final production of the 2014/2015 season, The Tempest Songbook, comprised of incidental music for The Tempest composed in 1695 and attributed to Henry Purcell and Kaija Saariaho's 2004 Tempest Songbook for soprano, baritone and period instrument ensemble, in its U.S. and World Stage Premieres.A co-production with The Martha Graham Dance Company, The Tempest Songbook will be performed in The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, with three performances from March 27 - 29, 2015. Performances: Friday and Saturday at 7pm, Sunday at 3pm. Tickets range from $30 to $175 and are available at metmuseum.org/tickets.

Simone Dinnerstein to Release New Album in February

Sony Classical will release pianist Simone Dinnerstein's next album, Broadway-Lafayette, in the US on February 24, 2015. The music on this album celebrates the time-honored transatlantic link between France and America through the music of George Gershwin (Rhapsody in Blue), Maurice Ravel (Piano Concerto in G Major), and Philip Lasser (The Circle and the Child: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, written for Dinnerstein). The album was recorded with conductor Kristjan Järvi and the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, by Grammy-winning producer Adam Abeshouse.

Kelli O'Hara & Matthew Morrison to Join New York Pops at Carnegie Hall in December

On December 19 and 20, 2014 at 8:00 PM, The New York Pops will present an evening full of holiday cheer at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage featuring Tony, Emmy and two-time Golden Globe nominee, Matthew Morrison, and five-time Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara. The orchestra will also be joined by Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke will lead the concert, which will include festive classics like "Carol of the Bells," "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," and "Winter Wonderland," plus some of the Broadway's most beloved musical numbers.

American Opera Projects and Adelphi University to Present New Opera INDEPENDENCE EVE

(American Opera Projects) and Adelphi University present Independence Eve, a new chamber opera in three scenes that explores the troubled journey of race relations in America. The concert performances will take place on Thursday, November 13 at 7:30PM at the Concert Hall of the Performing Arts Center at Adelphi University (1 South Ave, Garden City, NY 11530), with a second performance on Saturday, November 15 at 8PM in the Great Room at AOP's South Oxford Space (138 S Oxford Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217). Composed by Sidney Marquez Boquiren with a libretto by Daniel Neer, the opera will include performances by baritone Jorell Williams, and tenor Brandon Snook. Damian Norfleet will act as stage director, while Mila Henry will provide music direction and piano.

BalletCollective Premieres New Works by Troy Schumacher Tonight

New York, NY, October 23, 2014– UPDATE: Troy Schumacher, Artistic Director of BalletCollective, will now be performing with the company on October 29 and 30 at NYU Skirball Center. Mr. Schumacher is replacing Harrison Coll, who has sustained a minor injury and is unable to perform.
