While it hasn't even debuted yet on NBC, according to NY Magazine, the musical within SMASH might be on its way to the Broadway stage. Jesse Green writes: 'If Smash is successful and gets renewed, the Marilyn musical should reach "Broadway" next winter-much faster than a real production would. But, even stranger, if the Marilyn musical is itself successful, producers hope to crack it out of its Smash shell and move it to the actual Broadway sometime thereafter.'

Monday, December 12, 2011, the Broadway community descended on New York City's glamorous Museum of Modern Art to get their first official look at NBC's upcoming new musical drama series SMASH. BroadwayWorld was on the red carpet to catch up with all of the show's stars on their big night!

Well, it's official. The show that Broadway and BroadwayWorld.com has been eagerly anticipating is officially a SMASH! On December 12, 2011, the Broadway community descended on New York City's glamorous Museum of Modern Art to get their first official look at NBC's upcoming new musical drama series SMASH, which is nothing less than an ongoing love-letter to Broadway. The attendees, from the casts of nearly every show on the Great White Way, were enthralled from start to finish.

On February, 6, 2011, the highly anticipated new musical drama series, SMASH, will premiere on NBC. BroadwayWorld has been given an EXCLUSIVE first look at the new poster art below! Click on the banner to view the high res version!

SMASH, NBC's new show which is about a group of people who come together to put on a Broadway musical, was developed by NBC's Robert Greenblatt, Steven Spielberg, and Broadway producing team Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Broadway's Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman wrote the music for the show. Michael Mayer directed the project, and playwright Theresa Rebeck penned the script.

SMASH, NBC's upcoming Broadway-filled series, will premiere February 6. In the mean time, check out a photo star Katharine McPhee posted to her Facebook page of she and Broadway vet Megan Hilty in the recording studio!

According to Deadline.com, Lifetime network is currently working on a remake of the classic film 'Blue Lagoon'. The project will be produced by Neil Meron and Graig Zadan's Storyline Entertainment as well as Judith Verno's Peace Out Prods in association with Sony Pictures TV.

With stars such as Bernadette Peters and Nick Jonas already signed on to guest star in NBC's upcoming Broadway-based series SMASH, the series has added yet another star to its list: Uma Thurman will join the show for a five episode arc.

NBC's new Broadway-filled series SMASH will premiere on February 6 at 10pm. Can't wait until then?
