Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of PRODIGAL SON, the new play written and directed by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley (Doubt, Outside Mullingar), begins previews tonight, January 19 for a Tuesday, February 9 opening night at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

Beloved folk/indie blend Broadway musical ONCE will, once more, hit the road.

There is something both familiar and jarring about the brand new North American tour of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, running at Orlando's Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts through Sunday, January 10th. While the beloved musical about a nun turned governess still has all of the iconic songs by Richard Rodgers (music) and Oscar Hammerstein II (lyrics), including 'My Favorite Things,' 'Do-Re-Mi (complete with solfege hand signs),' and the title song, this production focuses more intently on the real-world danger that the Trapp family faced leading up to the outbreak of World War II.

Producers Kevin McCollum, Doug Morris and Berry Gordy are thrilled to announce that Broadway veteran Chester Gregory will join the First National Tour of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL in the leading role of Berry Gordy. Mr. Gregory's first performance will be tonight in Richmond, VA.

With its first national tour wrapped, beloved folk/indie blend Broadway musical ONCE will, once more, hit the road. A new national tour of the eight-time Tony winning musical will launch in January 2016 in Utica, NY, before traveling coast-to-cast, with stops in Los Angeles, Detroit and more planned. The National Ballet of Canada returns to the Kennedy Center following its highly regarded 2013 engagement of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with the United States premiere of The Winter's Tale from January 19-24, 2016 in the Kennedy Center Opera House. Based on William Shakespeare's classic play of the same name, the production is co-produced with The Royal Ballet and choreographed by the renowned British choreographer and Tony Award winner Christopher Wheeldon, choreographer of the Tony Award-winning musical An American in Paris, and his acclaimed creative team. The Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra will accompany this production.

Tickets are on sale now for the CAPA and Broadway in Columbus presentation of the brand new production of The Sound of Music, directed by three-time Tony Award-winner Jack O'Brien. This lavish new production will make its Columbus premiere January 26-31 at the Ohio Theatre as part of a North American tour.

If you like THE SOUND OF MUSIC, do go see it at the Hippodrome. You won't be disappointed. If you don't like THE SOUND OF MUSIC, (hard to imagine, but some folk don't), there's no reason to think that this production will change your mind.
