The Baltimore Playwrights Festival (www.baltplayfest.org) continues its Thirty-Second Season with two play-readings on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1025 S. Potomac Street, Baltimore, MD 21224 (on O'Donnell Square, http://www.messiahodsq.com/ ). Starting at 1:00 p.m., plays to be read are The Gin Baby, by Sarah Shaefer, to be followed at 3:00 p.m. by Fifteen Men in a Smoke Filled Room, by Colin Crowley. After each reading there will be a discussion of the script with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend.

BEARS Receives NY Premiere at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters welcomes Sans A Productions with the New York City premiere of BEARS, written by Mark Rigney and directed by Kristin McCarthy Parker. BEARS begins performances on Thursday, March 14 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 31. Press opening is Sunday, March 17 at 3:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday and Saturday at 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Tickets are $18 ($12.60 for 59E59 Members). Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Friday, February 8, for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to the World Premiere of THE FLICK, a new play by Obie Award winner Annie Baker (Circle Mirror Transformation at Playwrights Horizons/PH, The Aliens, her recent adaptation of Uncle Vanya), directed by Obie Award winner Sam Gold (Circle Mirror Transformation, Kin and The Big Meal at PH; Seminar and the current Picnic on Broadway). Works & Process at the Guggenheim has announced its spring 2013 season. Each intimate, 80-minute performance uniquely combines artistic creation and stimulating conversation and takes place in the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed, 285-seat Peter B. Described by the New York Times as "a popular series devoted to shedding light on the creative process," Works & Process is produced by founder Mary Sharp Cronson.
