John Douglas Thompson will lead a company of 19 actors playing 60 roles in the first major New York production since Broadway 1956 of Christopher Marlowe's 1587 epic Tamburlaine, Parts I and II, Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director of Theatre for a New Audience, announced. Directed and edited by Olivier Award-winner Michael Boyd, former Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Marlowe's two-part drama will be performed as one 3.5-hour play, plus a 30-minute intermission.

Tomoe and Yoshinaka will, for the first time, present a double­bill performance featuring Noh, the traditional dance­drama of Japan, alongside a modern Noh-­inspired opera composed by Garrett Fisher with Fisher Ensemble.

For his first directing project since winning the 2014 Tony Award, Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak will helm Shakespeare's masterpiece, Hamlet, playing only four weeks, from October 16 to November 16, at Hartford Stage. Hamlet follows three popular Shakespearean productions in the last two years by Tresnjak: The Tempest, Twelfth Night, and last season's Macbeth.

Jughead Theatricals brings Sing, Sing, Sing to the stage of the Heartland Forum in Crown Center. Diane Bulan produces Sing, Sing, Sing in conjunction with the KC Fringe Festival. The Heartland Forum is located in the space once occupied by the American Heartland Theatre.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced the addition of two new plays to its 2014-2015 season: THE MYSTERY OF LOVE AND SEX by Bathsheba Doran, to be directed by Sam Gold, which begins previews Thursday, February 5, and opens on Monday, March 2, at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater; and the LCT3 production of VERITE by Nick Jones, to be directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, beginning Saturday, January 31 through Sunday, March 15, and opening on Wednesday, February 18 at the Claire Tow Theater.

Ryan McCartan, 2011 Jimmy Award winner, will host the 2-hour talent showcase that features dynamic ensemble and solo performances.
