Last night, November 10, The Lilly Awards Foundation with the Broadway at Birdland Series presented The Lilly Awards Broadway Cabaret: An evening of showstoppers written by women and performed by Broadway's Best to benefit The Lilly Awards Foundation whose mission is to promote gender parity at all levels of theatrical production, and develop and celebrate the work of women in the theater. The evening was directed by Daisy Prince, musical direction by Georgia Stitt and co-produced by Amanda Green and Georgia Stitt. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from backstage below!

Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts has announced casting for its ESPA Drills Reading Series this August. ESPA Drills is an annual new play development program providing staged readings to four playwrights. The plays are workshopped under the guidance of the ESPA staff and will be presented before an audience of industry peers Off-Broadway at The Duke on 42nd Street.

Just last night, the Lilly Awards celebrated women of distinction in musical theater at Playwrights Horizons. CHASING TASTE Makes World Premiere at VISIONFEST 2014 Today

Fresh from a 'Best Comedy' win at the 2013 Burbank International Film Festival, indie film Chasing Taste has sold out of tickets for its world premiere at VISIONFEST tonight, May 16th at 7:00p.m. at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City. To meet the demand of audience members, VISIONFEST is opening up more seats in a second screening room for a simulcast. Chasing Taste tells the story of a down-and-out novelist who is transformed overnight into NYC's next big food critic. On the cusp of fame and fortune, the writer turned food critic suddenly loses his sense of taste and smell in a freak accident, forcing him to rely on a team of super 'smellers' and tasters to help him fake his reviews. The screenplay is written by Lori Fischer and produced by Ashley Wren Collins, Maitely Weismann and Sean Gannet. The picture also marks the feature film directorial debut of Sean Gannet.

Actors' Equity Foundation's 2014 Richard Seff Award to Go to Peter Maloney and Mare Winningham

Peter Maloney and Mare Winningham are the recipients of the annual Richard Seff Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation to a veteran male and female character actor for the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production. The announcement was made by Arne Gundersen, president of the Foundation, which administers the award.

The production will be performed at The Gym at Judson, through April 20, 2014.
