The NEW YORK FESTIVAL OF SONG opens its 2012-2013 season amidst election fever with a semi-staged political musical theater satire, MR. GERSHWIN GOES TO WASHINGTON, on Saturday, October 20 at 8:00PM at Merkin Concert Hall.

The Theatre Museum Awards for Excellence were held Monday night, April 30, at The Players Club. Helen Guditis, President of The Theatre Museum, five time Tony winner Stewart F. Lane, Chairman of the Board of The Theatre Museum and 2011 Honoree for Distinguished Service to the Theatre, Bonnie Comley hosted a celebration to honor excellence in the theatre. The 50th anniversary edition of the original cast recording of The Sound of Music will be released on November 3, 2009.
