This weekend, beginning May 9, L.A. Theatre Works will air its production of Major Barbara by George Bernard Shaw. The broadcast of Major Barbara can be heard locally in Southern California on Saturday from 10pm to midnight on KPCC 89.3 FM, and can also be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

South Coast Repertory has announced the lineup of actors and directors who will participate in the 12th annual Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF). Since its creation in 1998, PPF has grown into one of the most important festivals of new scripts in the United States. This year?s Festival will take place during the May 1 through May 3 weekend and will feature five staged readings and two fully-produced World Premieres on South Coast Repertory?s Segerstrom and Julianne Argryos Stages. Theatre Works will air The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, starring Julie Harris, Calista Flockhart, Zeljko Ivanek, and Kevin Kilner - recreating their original roles from the Tony Award-winning Broadway production. Williams' classic memory-play about an eccentric Southern family: the domineering Amanda Wingfield and her grown children, cynical Tom and fragile Laura.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has announced its nominations and special awards for excellence in Los Angeles and Orange County theatre for the year 2005. The 37th Annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards ceremony will take place Monday, March 13 at the El Portal Theatre, located at 5269 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood.
