Monday morning, September 9, at 10 AM, Senator Andrea Stillman and Mayor Daryl Finizio of New London are the guests of honor as the New London Maritime Society--Custom House Maritime Museum officially christens two eight-foot, shallow-water, marine buoys just installed Sunday at the Bank Street museum. The event coincides with the start of Connecticut Maritime History and Heritage Week. The Buoy Launch takes place Monday, September 9 at 10 AM in front of the Custom House Maritime Museum, 150 Bank Street, New London.

MY NAME IS ASHER LEV Opens at Performance Network Theatre Tomorrow

"My Name is Asher Lev" adapted by Aaron Posner from the novel by Chaim Potok is the narrative of a young Jewish boy who lives in Brooklyn with his extremely orthodox family as he travels through time, reliving his journey as a painter and the struggles it presented within his family. A proud co-production with Performance Network Theatre in Ann Arbor and the Jewish Ensemble Theatre (JET) in West Bloomfield, "My Name is Asher Lev" received rave reviews from critics at the JET in April. The performances in West Bloomfield were so successful that the JET extended the run through June. "My Name is Asher Lev" is now coming to Performance Network Theatre on August 8 through September 8 starring Naz Edwards, Mitchell Koory, and John Seibert. Starz Entertainment announced today that production has begun in Cape Town, South Africa on the new original series 'Black Sails' from executive producer Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes with Neil Marshall (The Descent, 'Game of Thrones') set to direct the first episode. The new STARZ Original series is set to air in 2014. The straight-to-series, eight-episode first season of the gritty pirate adventure centers on the tales of Captain Flint and his men, and takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic 'Treasure Island.'

Luke Arnold to Star in Starz Original Series BLACK SAILS

STARZ announced several new cast members in the upcoming Michael Bay-produced original series BLACK SAILS. The eight episode freshman season of the drama series is set to air on STARZ in 2014. The pirate adventure tells the story of Captain Flint and his men, and takes place 20 years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic 'Treasure Island.'
