Writers' Theatre Extends SWEET CHARITY Through 4/14

Writers' Theatre Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma and Artistic Director Michael Halberstam announce the two-week extension of Writers' Theatre production of Sweet Charity, book by Neil Simon with music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, directed by Artistic Director Michael Halberstam with musical direction by Doug Peck and choreography by Jessica Redish. The production now runs through April 14, 2013, at Writers' Theatre, 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe, IL.
Terrence Howard & Sanaa Lathan Star In MACBETH Remake

Derek Smith Joins Off-Broadway's DANCE OF DEATH

Red Bull Theater today announced that Derek Smith would join the cast for the American Premiere of a new adaptation of August Strindberg's The Dance of Death by Mike Poulton (Tony Award Nominee for Best Play for Fortune's Fool), directed by Joseph Hardy (Tony Award winner for Best Director for Child's Play).

After memorable conversations with such fascinating guests as the New Yorker's JOHN LAHR (September 17), Hunter College's IRENE DASH (October 22), the McCarter Theatre's NAGLE JACKSON (November 19), Columbia University's JAMES SHAPIRO (December 17), and The Lion King's JULIE TAYMOR (January 28), The Shakespeare Guild now looks forward to evenings in Manhattan's National Arts Club that will focus on three engaging authors: PAUL DICKSON, THOMAS KEITH, and SUSANNAH CARSON. These events will be followed in May by a fourth gathering that will take us to another venerable institution, The Players, and place the spotlight on EVERETT RAYMOND KINSTLER, a celebrity portrait painter who has been compared to the legendary John Singer Sargent.
