On Tony Sunday, June 8th, BroadwayWorld's own Randy Rainbow will host a live simulcast of the 68th annual Tony Awards at 42West (located in the Out NYC Hotel.) The 68th Annual Tony Awards will be televised live from New York City's Radio City Music Hall on Sunday June 8th from 8-11 P.M. (ET/PT time delay) on CBS in the U.S. and internationally to over thirty countries including Japan (WOWOW), Australia (Foxtel), New Zealand (Sky), Philippines (ABS-CBN), Canada (CHCH) and on Pramer Film & Arts throughout South and Central America and the Caribbean and via AFN to American servicemen worldwide. The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

Just last night, Drama Desk and Tony Award winner Laura Benanti ('The Sound of Music Live!', Gypsy, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) hosted the 59th Annual Drama Desk Awards at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street).

Happy Birthday, Idina Menzel! Menzel reached superstardom on Broadway with her Tony Award-winning performance as Elphaba, the misunderstood green girl, in the blockbuster Wicked and in her Tony-nominated role as Maureen in the revolutionary Rent. Menzel recently reprised her role on 'Glee,' FOX's smash hit television series, as Shelby Corcoran, Rachel's biological mother. Additional theatre credits include: Aida, The Wild Party, See What I Wanna See, and more. She just received a Tony nomination for her performance in the new Broadway musical If/Then.
